Privacy policy
Effective October 14, 2026
The REI Wire is published by Opus Novum. The REI Wire ("we") publishes a free weekly email newsletter. Contact: privacy@thereiwire.com. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you subscribe through a form on this website.
- Signup details: the date and time you subscribed, which page form you used, and the version of the consent wording you agreed to. We keep this as a record of your consent.
- Basic technical data processed by our hosting provider (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
How we use it
We use your email address only to send The REI Wire and occasional messages about the newsletter itself. We do not sell or rent your email address. We do not add contacts we did not get directly from you.
Service providers
We use service providers to host this website and store subscriber records (Cloudflare) and to manage our subscriber list. When we choose an email delivery service, it will process your email address only to send the newsletter on our behalf. These providers may only use your information to provide services to us.
Unsubscribing
Every issue includes an unsubscribe link. You can also reply UNSUBSCRIBE to any issue or email privacy@thereiwire.com. When you unsubscribe, we stop sending the newsletter and mark your record as unsubscribed; we may keep a minimal record so we honor your choice.
Cookies
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Children
The REI Wire is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect your information and keep it only as long as needed for the newsletter and our consent records.
